DB13 Offline Backup error

Hi,

When I try to take an Offline Backup thru' DB13 in my ECC 6.0 system it terminates without any specific error.It shows Job Completed.No Action Logs are available ,Job Log shows the following:

Job started

Step 001 started (program RSDBAJOB, variant &0000000000052, user ID BASIS007)

Execute logical command BRBACKUP On host msatdev

Parameters:-u / -jid ALLOF20061214190000 -c force -t offline_force -m all -p initS6D.sap

Job finished

However,from the command promt,when I give brbackup -u/-c force -m all -t offline_force ,the backup succeeds.

Sapbackup log file shows the following:

BR0051I BRBACKUP 7.00 (13)

BR0055I Start of database backup: bduduilo.aft 2006-12-14 19.00.04

BR0477I Oracle pfile E:\oracle\S6D\102\database\initS6D.ora created from spfile E:\oracle\S6D\102\database\spfileS6D.ora

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Dear Barry,

How can my inits6d.sap be the same as inits6d.ora???

The first has backup related /SAP parameters,whereas the second is solely Oracle related parameters.I've tried recreating the .ora file from the spfile also.

Sorry for not clarifying..

I meant path names to directories....

Can you run checkdb and verifydb successfully?

Also, are you running a cluster?

Can you post the deatils of your init<SID>.sap?

Thanks a lot for all your help...however the problem was not in the init file..as Barry Hamilton suggested,I applied Note 988038.This solved the problem instantly:)

Check the initS6D.sap file and see if it is the same as initS6D.ora/spfileS6D.ora
