View and restore the content of archived messages

Hi All,

I archived some XI messages in xyz.ARCHIVE file. How can I view the content of this file, especially the XML message content? And is it possible to unarchive that file back to XI server's database?

Hi,

I think you can read archived msgs in R/3 only.

sxmb_adm -> Schedule archiving -> archive Management -> Read.

And as far as i know we cannot restore the archived msgs.

Thanks for the explanation. I tried to do that and the archived messges' IDs are listed. But when I selected a line and clicked on the "Display Archived Versions", the system indicates "Could not find message in archive". Do you have any idea?

Hi,

I dont know the possible reason for this error, but what you can do is to go through that link thoroughly. It has all steps info about archiving.

I think probably this error is due to some retention period settings.
