Error Merging Records

Hello Everybody

I am trying to merge some duplicate records of a material. The source is an excel sheet. The 3 fields i considered for the strategy are Material Description, Location and Price. I deliberately created a few duplicate records and tried to merge them, im getting an error "<b>Error Merging Records</b>" with "<b>MDS failed to merge the selected records</b>" statement. Could some one tell me why this is happening?

If you specify multiple matching fields or field combinations, the first one is, by default, autmatically designated as the key field for the purpose of merging duplicate source records.

You have to set the key fields properly for merging of source records.

Please refer to Import Manager Reference Guide under "Setting the Key Field"

It looks to me that you do not have previlege to merge records.

In console under section Roles, against your user, check the functions tab for the access details.
