I am getting an error in the Sender File adapter as "Configured source directory does not exist". Any idea?

FYI..

@source structure path is
IP address\Orders

@File Name is orders12122006.xml

@Transport protocal is File System and MP is File,processing mode is delete.

@I can't see any messages in SXMB_MONI and Message monitoring

@I got the above error message in File comm channel of Adapter monitoring.

@I tried the source structure as D:\Orders, \Orders, D:/Orders but no luck

@I am in the LAN and able to map the XI server to my PC.I can read and write to the specified folder of the server

@My System OS and server OS are both running on Windows.

Thanks in advance

Raju

Hi,

You can see the exception stack trace in the adapter log files present in the server. I think that might have some information to solve the problem.

/usr/sap/[SID]/[instance]/j2ee/cluster/server[N]/log/applications.[n].log

usr/sap/[SID]/[instance]/j2ee/cluster/server[N]/log/applications\com.sap.xi\xi.log

Hope this helps.

Do you mean to say, you have the files placed in XI server itself? If so, it is possible to access the file using NFS via the complete path (eg:D:/data/). I have tried the same earlier and found it working.

HI sridhar,

for making your system as FTP Location:

Follow weblog: /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/08/01/along-came-a-file-adapter-mr-ftp-and-rest-of-the-gang

Then you can use ipaddress of your system.

Put your file in C:\ftproot folder. and give source path as '/'.

It should work.

=>If you want to use NFS only, Give ipadress of XI Sytem and place file at particular location D:\ORDERS.

Cheers,

in case you have used FTP, you need to have a FTP configured.

NFS will mean that you are accessing a folder on the XI server itself, for all others use FTP.

More on FTP - /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/08/01/along-came-a-file-adapter-mr-ftp-and-rest-of-the-gang

Hi,

NFS does not allows you to access any other IPaddress other than the Xi server itself. You would need an FTP for this.

Hi,

If you need to access it using
IP\Orders then the Orders folder should be shared accordingly.

Or else you can try d:
Orders - but am not sure on this.
