Hi Narayanan,

Did you ever find an answer to this? I am having the exact same problem.

Thanks!

Hello Narayanan,

1. You posted the question at MaxDB/liveCache forum, but

from the given information, it's not clear, if you have

any errors/problem in your database.

Lets go & check first, if you have any errors in the database

logs and the database is running, check if there are NO LOG_FULL

or DB_FULL issues.

-> Please update with output of the following commands, run on the

database server:

sdbregview -l

dbmcli -s inst_enum

dbmcli -s db_enum

dbmcli -d <DB-name> -u <dbm-user>,<pwd> db_state

dbmcli -d <DB-name> -u <dbm-user>,<pwd> show active

-> Please check errors in the current knldiag, knldiag.err & dbm.prt

files located in the Rundirectory on the database server.

2. You wrote, that 'disp+work in Yellow flag'.

Did you check the WP dev log on the application server?

Please review the logs stderr, sapstart.log, dev_ms, dev_w ...

and check the error messages.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hello Narayanan,

-> As I wrote, please update with output of the following commands, run on the

database server:

sdbregview -l

< to list the database software packages installed on the server>

dbmcli -s inst_enum

< To display a list of all registered versions of the database

software. >

dbmcli -s db_enum

< to display a list of all registered database instances on the server. >

=> For example on my PC ( <DB-name> = J2E 😞

dbmcli db_enum

OK

J2E C:\SAPDB\J2E\DB 7.5.0.7 slow offline

J2E C:\SAPDB\J2E\DB 7.5.0.7 quick offline

J2E C:\SAPDB\J2E\DB 7.5.0.7 fast offline

-> By default the dbm-user/pwd are control/control.

For example, I didn't change the password of the dbm-user &

run the standard J2EE installation on my PC & DB-name = J2E:

dbmcli -d J2E -u control,control db_state

OK

State

OFFLINE

-> Please see more information about database users at:

A)

Database System Administrator User -

SUPERDBA ( default password - admin)

Please run:

dbmcli -d BI1 -u superdba,admin db_state

B)

If you will have the success to run the A) command =>

dbmcli -d BI1 -u superdba,admin

<enter>

dbmcli on BI1>user_getall

dbmcli on BI1>sql_connect superdba,admin

dbmcli on BI1>sql_execute select * from users

< update with output >

dbmcli on BI1>sql_release

dbmcli on BI1>exit

C) logon as bi1adm & run:

xuser list

< update with output >

Hello Narayanan,

1. Concerning the xuser tool please review the SAP note 39439.

-> Did you check the errors in the knldiag.err & knldiag files?

2. You wrote: "For Step 2, We shall review it and come back to soon."

Did you check the application logs & did you see any errors?

3. So far I didn't see any errors in the posted "dev_disp" & another

information from the database provided by you => What kind of the

workaround you asked for? To give you the workaround I need to know,

what errors/problems did you get.

Please check the system, logs & update with additional information.

Do you have the problems with the database or the communication to

the database?

4. You wrote "When we tried to start SAP via MMC, disp+work in Yellow flag".

When you will start the system in SAPMMC , then refresh the status of the

processes & review the results => disp+work process status could be, for

example:

green - running ... OK

yellow - Running but dialog Queue stand still

red - Could not be started ...

-> What is in your case? Was you able to logon to your system?

Thank you & best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hi Techie Gurus,

We're still facing the problem, to be precise:

1) In MMC Console, We are trying to start the SAP System and it started but few.

2) In Process List of SAP MMC & SID:

- Msg_server.exe(Green) with status as "running"

- disp+work.exe(Yellow) with status as "running, Message Server connection ok, Dialog Queue time 0.00 sec, J2EE: Some process running

- igswd.exe(Green) with status as "Running".

3) J2EE Process Table:

- SDM(Green); pid(3904) with Status as "RUnning" & Debug as "Switched off"

- dispatcher(Green); pid(3092) with status as "Running" & Debug as "Disabled"

- server0(Grey); pid(0) with status as "stopped" & debug as "Disabled"; Exitcode (-11113)

Background:

We have created J2EE_Guest in SAP back end which is working find. Visual Administrator is not working and suddently port got changed to some 8000. Also tried to check telnet for 3900 which also held by another port( we think). Hope this background info helps.

Appreciate help from tech gurus asap.

thank you in advance.
