Hi,
well i try to map an customer-like IDoc (no Basis) to the Odette target format. I surfed the net but there is no special kind of structure of the odette format - or is there. I am not sure to just make a target datatype with the mapping guideline of the target system.
Is there any hint u can give? odette.org is kind of confusing for me!
thx in advance, jens
Jens,
Also check this help on Odette:

Hi, thx, but this one only concerns the protocol OFTP as far i read.
I'd like to know the the datatype itself like is there some special kind of structure/order as like in IDocs with segments etc.?!
Odette is both a transport and a message standard.
http://www.odette.org/html/odette&edifact.htm
The message standard should be avoided in favor of EANCOM if at all possible. Not sure about the transport protocol.
Hello Jens!
For the message transfer you need the ODETTE file transfer protocol (OFTP).
Regards the datatype there are 2 types of standards available.
The new one are EDIFACT based messages. This messages are mostly similar to the regular EDIFACT messages.
The older one are special ODETTE messages. This messages have the same interface segments like EDIFACT (UNB,UNG,UNH,UNT,UNE,UNZ) but inside total different messages from regular EDIFACT. For example MID, ARD, ... segments.
But the basic of this data are similar to regular EDIFACT messages. It means it use the same delimiter, escape charcted,...
A sample ODETTE DELINS (delivery instruction) messages can looks like the one bellow:
