Hi Friends,
I am installing the SAP Netweaver 2004s on a server which has Windows 2003 server Operating system on it.
It has got 6GB RAM and has, 5gb of free space in C drive, H: drive has 70 gb and I: drive has 50 GB of free space in it.
I am running Pre_requiste checker tool to check my hardware & software requirements in order to go ahead with installation, as a part of SAPInst.exe execution.
The results of Prerequisite checker tool are satisfied except for one " SWAP SPACE VALUES"
I am getting the message as follows
"The Minimum SWAP SPACE values required is 10994MB and currently you have 5993MB"
How to increase this SWAP space value? Please let me know the procedure.
Currently my server has a paging file details as below : Min size : 2MB & Max size : 9214MB allocated on C: drive. No other drive has paging file allocation.
What effect will I have if i proceed without meeting this requirement??
Suitable answers will be rewarded.
Thanks
Diwakar
Hi,
as stated in this blog, the sap installer always miscalculate swap space.

I alwasy had a warning about swap space on all my installation.
Just let windows manage it and forget it.

Hi,
Before Installation..read the installation manual
for NW2004s u need 1 times RAM plus 8 GB
To check paging file size:
1. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
2. Choose Advanced® Performance Settings.
3. If required, in section Virtual Memory, choose Change.

Hi ,
What do you mean by 1times RAM plus 8GB???
My system has totally 6GB RAM in it.Is this not sufficeint or do I need more RAM???
1times RAM plus 8GB : Is this applicale for Paging file size or to RAM?? What is the max& min paging file size that I need to have???
Does this Paging file size allocation is to be only on C drive or on any other drive or combination of both the drives???
Please let me know.
Thanks
