Hello Forum,
I've tried to install SAPNWAS_JAVAEE5_T06, but the setup failed with an error during the sapdb-installation.
On the Workstation there was Java 1.5.0_03-b07 and an Oracle client installed before.
So my question may this cause an error or are there other options?
I've got following information:
-
InstallWindow:
-
Errors occurred during the installation.
An error occurred and product installation failed. Look at the log file D:\sapdb\JP1\log.txt for details.

I hope I could try NetWeaver next time.

My problem is kjnda different, I tried to install the software early in the morning around 7am and when I returned from work the progress bar is still 4% since I left.
What seems to be the problem? I am using Windows XP SP2 on Intel HyperThreading 2.78GHz, 512MB RAM and 190GB Harddisk.
The installer seems to stuck in 4% even when I tried to repeat the installation.
Any help would be very much appreciated to finally test this new SAPNWAS Java EE 5
thanks.

Hi Michael,
The problem with the installation actually lies here:
Sat Dec 09 01:05:52 CET 2006 MaxDB sdbinst: Starting communication service
Sat Dec 09 01:05:53 CET 2006 MaxDB sdbinst: <b>18433 ERROR: Could not open 'application event log', rc = 1717</b>
Sat Dec 09 01:05:54 CET 2006 MaxDB sdbinst: installation exited abnormally at Sa, Dec 09, 2006 at 01:05:53
After that the installer just tries to uninstall the MaxDB software and says that XSERVER is already running. This is OK, the error you should look after is the first one. Try to figure out what is wrong with the application event log, this should hopefully give you some hints on solving the case...
HTH!

Hi Michael,
the log file says at certain point in time:
....
<b>MaxDB: 18641 ERROR: XSERVER is already running!</b>
Before starting the installation, can you check your Windows services for the XServer service and stop it. Then retry the installation.
Hope that helps!
Btw., I'm moving this message to the Java EE 5 @ SAP forum dedicated to the Java EE 5 Edition server.
