MTT 2.0 applications not downloaded correctly

Dear All,

We are currently using Mobile Engine 2.1 with Mobile Time and Travel 1.6 in our production system and in preparation for a system landscape upgrade to ERP2005 we copied our R/3 Enterprise 4.7 ext.110 production system and upgrade it to ECC 6.0.

The upgraded system runs in a MSCS environment with SQL Server 2005 and windows 2003 on 64bit itanium machines.

The database runs on NodeA and the CI and Java ADD-In (with usage type MI) on NodeB. Both servers have 2 CPU and 32GB of memory and have the latest SAP Support stack 10 installed.

After the upgrade and during the configuration of Mobile Infrastructure we encountered the following problems.

1: At first we were unable to assign Applications to the mobile device via de Netweaver Administrator because of issues with install sequence. This problem was resolved after implementing Note 1001292...However we are now no longer able to define the installation sequence of the applications without the system dumping. Furthermore the Note which we implemented to correct the sequence problem seems to have been withdrawn. Is note 1001292 still current?

This week we deployed the MTT 2.0 SP3 + Patch1 (MTS en MTR) in the recently upgraded ECC6 system and have encountered the following issues:

2. We assigned the latest releases of MTR and MTS applications (MTT 2.0 SR3 Patch 1) to a number of users for download but discovered that some users did not receive all the applications after synchronizing with the server.

While both applications are correctly assigned to the users some users only received the complete MTR but parts of MTS, some users received the complete MTS but parts of MTR while others only received parts of both applications. The users in the last case all get a Page 404 error when opening both MTR and MTS applications. It seems as if the installation sequence does not work correctly.

3.The users who received the complete MTS application after synchronizing with the server are only only able to view Timesheet entries for the DAY view instead of the weekly view which we are accustomed to in version 1.6. We did not changed out CVR parameter value which we use in our production system.Could this be a problem?

Cannot anyone help with these issues??

Dear All,

This problem is resolved.

We had to create an individual device configuration for all components and then assigned the components to the setup package.

Hi Owen Shaw

Thanks for this info. We are planning to release a note for 7.0 SPS 10 which will resolve this problem on the client w.r.t. installation sequence defined in NetWeaver Admin. This note will also resolve problems like SSO support on MI client and so on. Just to conclude that the problem is with regard to installation problem and to verify we both are in sync w.r.t problem statement, can you please provide the snapshot of the client error after deployment??? ie. i am speaking of the contents of the trace.txt file.

Hi Owen Shaw

1. Note 1001292 requires few modifications and will be released back shortly.

2. Regarding the problem with installation sequence and applications failing to download, can you please let me know on which version of MI you are currently running. Is it 2.5 of 7.0 and also which SP??? If you are on MI 2.5 SP 19 and have used installation sequence, then you have apply note 1002981 on the client. A similar notefor 7.0 on the client will be released very soon.

Best Regards

We are using client 7.0 which I believe is standard for ERP2005.

We also implemented the lastest support package stack 10.

Owen.
