CDT & GDT - Are the the same?

Hi~

Clearly the CCTS model that propogates the use of CDTs in ver 2.x form the basis of the services metamodel in the ESR. But when SAP has the term "GDTs", is it the same as "CDTs"?

The CCTS based Core Data Types complexSAP GDTs, which are representing aggregated types, are comparable with CCTS Aggregate Business Information Entities. All leaf elements of these SAP GDTs are based on a specific predefined CDT. A SAP GDT leaf element is comparable with a BBIE (Basis Business Information Entity).

Sorry that I'm answering so late. But I didn't considered that there any questions regarding CDTs and GDTs in our forum. Your answer is partially correct.

The Core Data Types (CDTs) represent an unambiguous basis of atomic business information parts that are used to assemble all higher level parts up to a complete business document. CDTs do have only a primarily business meaning and can thus be used by all existing Basic Core Components (BCCs) and their affiliated contextualized Basic Business Information Entities (BBIEs) as a means for characterizing the actual type of information (e.g. Amount, Identifier, etc.).

And a GDT could be either a complex GDT, which is comparable with an ABIE or even a simple GDT that is comparable with a BBIE property (which is newly defined in CCTS V3.0 working draft).
