Hello,
We have a 3 tier scenario with VB based Desktop applications(Presentation Layer) interfacing with a Middleware technology(Business Logic) and a Database system. The intent is to replace the VB based Desktop application with a Rich Web Bases UI client that is Open standards based. The Middleware is already supporting Open standards.
The question is whether Web Dynpro can be a choice? Is it Rich enough in terms of UI to be equivalent to a VB based UI capability.

Hello,
Is the Grid Control in Web Dynpro powerful enough to simulate a spreadsheet like bahaviour which is quite possible in various Grid Controls available for VB 6 applications.

Hi,
Yes, Web Dynpro is rich enough to be utilized as an alternative to VB based UIs. It conforms to the MVC architecture and is integrated well within the NetWeaver Developer Studio. If you need more information on the architecture of Web Dynpro, please take a look at this link. Moreover, https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/webdynpro contains all sorts of information on this topic.
Hope this helps.
