installation XI and ERP on the same host

Hello Experts,

on all configurations I saw the system where the XI is running was really only need for XI-Purposes. My Question is, does it it make sense to use the XI-System (e.g. the ABAP-Stack) as a 'normal' ERP-System?

Best regards

Mathias

ME,

I would say this is good question to understand the technology.

The role of ABAP engine would be Integration Server.

Do u think that all the ERP transactions would work for XI ABAP stack?

Try any transactions like MM01 - Material creation.--It would not work.

If u have questions dont hesitate to post them

This forum is the best place to learn anything about XI.

hi,

AFAIK you can install XI on the same server but not on the same client!

so ERP transaction will work only on ERP client

but the solution is not advisable

as XI consumes a lot of resources

and if you have many flows and messages

you should use another server

Hi Mathias,

What Michal says is right. You cannot install them on the same client. In our environment, we have XI on a different box, whereas SRM and EBP are on another box, as two different clients.

Hope this helps.:)

hi,

I wasn't talking about different boxes

(you can use one box)
