Hello,
we need to run MaxDB 7.6 and MaxDB 7.3 on one Linux server.
We need to use the database without other SAP application like XI, PCK, ....
Is this scenario possible/allowed?
Current situation:
MaxDB 7.3 is already installed on the Linux server.
The installation of MaxDB 7.6 recognizes the older MaxDB version and offers the options "Upgrade" or "Uninstall" the old version. There is no option "Parallel Installation"....
Any ideas/hints....?
Thx,
Udo
Hi,
yes, they can coexist.
First thing to do would be to upgrade the client version to MaxDB 7.6. The client version will always be of the highest version.
So, please make sure if the message is stating that it is updating the Client, If that's the case, you should be fine. Just make sure it's not the Server part that's being updated.
When you're not sure, then show us the contents of the MaxDB Update protocol from your /sapdb/data/wrk directory, before continuing.
Regards,
Roland
