Problem configuring the J2ee engine in NWDS

Hi all,

I am trying to configure the SAP J2ee Engine in NWDS by entering the Message server port and host frm Windows- preferences-SAP J2ee Engine .

Host: <servername>

Port:<3601>

but it doesnt show up the j2ee engine view below with the instances .

( Note: i went to System Information(http://server:port/index.html) to find the message server host n port no. )

is there a possiblity that port is blocked , if so, is there any proper alternative for this ?

Thnks

Hi,

Its possible that the port is blocked if you are behind a firewall. My guess is, probably other ports like 50004 (P4) and telnet ports are also blocked for you. Can you logon to the server through Visual Admin (if you have access)?

If that is the case, your network admin is the right person for help.

Thanks,

Hi Rajit,

I dont have access to the Visual Admin.and i am sure i am behind a firewall as the servers are at a different place.

Try to open a telnet session to the server.

Telnet <host> <port>

Check if you get an error to see if the server is reachable.
