Applyied SAP KERNEL 6.20 on R/3 Enterprise 4.7x1

Dear Gurus...

I have the kernel patch level 674 and I want applyied the Kernel level 1027 from CD.

I have SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 with Windows 2003, SQL 2000 and 32bit

Please, can you help me with the application?

Can you indicate me step by step.

Hi Luis Salazar,

Some precautions

1. Try to understand the side effects upgrading the kernel. In SAPnet, you can find

the implications of the new kernel.

2. Apply in Development box and test before applying in Production.

3. Also understand the benefits from the new kernel and put it before your customer and gain some goodwill.

Hi,

Do u have 2 *.CAR files ..one will be database dependant and other independant.First u copy these two car files in a folder then uncar it..thru command prompt goto that directory where two car files are placed and issue this command

c:\Newkernel>sapcar -xvf <filename>

then shutdown the sap system,database..stop those sap and db services and backup ur old kernel from(\usr\sap\sid\sys\exe\run) to a new location and copy all newly uncared files to run directory and start all those services which u stoppped

then from the command prompt issue disp+work -v .it shows new patch level of the kernel
