Question concerning >How To Handle Acknowledgments for IDoc<

Former Member

Hello everybody,

in the document

https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700003477212005E/HowTo_IDOC_Ack_20040817RR.pdf

it is not explicitly emphasized whether the receiver system has to be a SAP system.

So my question: Has the receiving system (that send the acknowledgement back) to be a SAP system?

Regards Mario

Hi,

In that particular document acknowledgement is of type "system and application".

System acknowledgement is given by XI system and application acknowledgement is given by receiver system which can be either R/3 or non SAP also.

There is one concept in R/3 as ALEAUDIT which is an acknowledgement to any incoming IDOC from receiver R/3 system. This ALEAUDIT will give acknowledgement in the form of ALEAUDIT IDOC.

Hi,

asuming a acknowledgement IDOC of type ALEAUD01 is routed back to the sending system.

Does this kind of IDOC trigger automatically a workflow?

Thanks & regards

Mario,

To send Idoc acks's from an SAP system back to an SAP system, these are ther following steps that would be needed.

1. The Idoc ALEAUD needs to be have an entry in the outbound partner profile of the SAP system. A report needs to be scheduled to send the Ack;'s to XI,.

2. In XI, an idoc comm channel should be created with respect to the SAP system that is waiting for the acknowledgement. --> name the comm channel as say idocAckChannel.

3. Create a receiver agreement for this channel. The sender Service will the SAP system sending the Ack, the receievr service will be the business system for the SAP system receving the ack , the intreface name and namespace make it as *.

Now, when XI receives the ack from the SAP system, it will look for the Receievr Agreement for this Ack and then use the Ack Comm channel to send the Acknowledegement back.

Bhavesh

Hi,

Yes,it can. provided that you have configured all the required settings to trigger workflow using that IDOC.

Hi,

In order to send ALEAUDIT IDOC we have to configure R/3 system.

It can be sent periodically(after one hour etc),after some event trigger, after execution of any job or report or using workflow also.

Hi Mario,

You can execute report IDX_NOALE to maintain IDOC acknowledgements. Also refer to Note 777175 for more details.

This report allows a sender system to request or deny acknowledgements for all message types centrally.

Regards.
