What is SLD?

Central repository of software catalog(tyes of software available in landscape) and systems catalog (info about system available in landscape)

In XI scenario SLD is the information provider for the Integration Repository, Integration Directory and Integration Server

Integration Repository = Design time activites takes place here

Integration Directory = Configuration time activites takes plave here

Integration server = Runtime activites takes place here

If useful cheerme up with points!!!

Dear Prasad,

For third party systems you can either create 'Third party Business System' in SLD or 'Business Service' in ID.

It is mandatory to create a Business System for SAP systems, in this case Business Service won't do.

A technical system can have more than one Products and each product can more than one SWCV.

A business system can have only one technical system associated to it.

Hi Prasad,

If you do specify a logical system in the required field, for eg, you will be able to restrict the list of IDOC recepients to the specified recepient.

Take a look at this too,

Hope this answers ur question.

cheers,

Hi,

Logical system is created in the SLD. For e.g you are posting an Idoc. In the SLD, you have SAP server details as a Technical system . Then Business System is created for this.

Sometimes we can use Business Service i.e Abstract Business service. In this case, it is just a logical entity from XI point of view to send or receive the message.

to know about Business Service and Business System difference-

Hi,

SLD is the central repository of all the systems in a landscape.

So you are creating Software component in the SLD and you are creating all the repository objects under this software components. For the ID , all the ligical systems are accessible from the SLD,

With out Business System Can't we run any Scenario?

>>>WIthout Business Service you can not run any scenario. So either Business Service or Business System is required..

i.e Business System is created in the SLD. It is associated with Technical system.

Business Service is abstract service.
