Hi all,
I would like to use a scatter chart in my Visual Composer model. However, I can't find this chart type within VC.
- Is scatter chart available in VC?
- If so, where can I find it?
- If not, is there a workaround?
Thanks in advance,
Ralph
Hi Ralph,
I don't know any scatter chart in VC, also no workaround.
Best Regards,
Marcel

As far as I know there is no scatter chart in VC.
You could use an HTML View and embed a BW BEx report in it that has the scatter chart (if the BEx offers such a chart type)

Hi Mario,
too bad that VC does not have a scatter chart option, but your work around will probably help me out !!! However, I do have a new questions now:
How can I link a BEX query or web template in VC?
I tried pulling in a new input form, adding a button to this form with the system action 'hyperlink'. In the formule field I added the hyperlink of the query:
"http://dmzsv024.atosorigin-ica.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=Z_DEMOAC_003&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1"
When I try to deploy the model it says: 'Deployment failed, error in compiling flex application (1)'. When I add a link to a website, f.e. "www.msn.com", it all works fine. I think it has something to do with the '&' sign in the link.
Thanks in advance (your help is appreciate very much !!!),
Ralph

How to Integrate Visual Composer Applications and BEx Web Templates
Hi Mario,
thanks for the information, the document is more about sending events back and forth between VC and WAD. However in the document I read something that triggered me to believe that the problem is created because visual composer en the web query are on different domains.
Domain query = http://dmzsv024.atosorigin-ica.com/
Domain VC = http://hefaistos.atosorigin-ica.com/
Is there, besides using a hyperlink, another way to link queries?
Best regards,
Ralph
Hi Mario,
I think I have solved my problem. I would like to link a query or web template in Visual Composer, but somehow this did not work. The problem that I ran into was with domains. This is what I did:
Step 1. open the query, set up the query, save it and open it in web view.
Step 2. Copy the web link, in my case this was:
Step 3. Within Visual Composer add a button with the action 'hyperlink'. Insert the hyperlink as follows:
"http://hefaistos.atosorigin-ica.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=Z_DEMOAC_006"
Notice:
- put the link between brackets " .... "
- change 'dmzsv024' to 'hefaistos'. The first part is for the internal domain of BI7.0 that we use, the second one is for external access.
- delete the &VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1 part. Visual Composer does not accept the '&' signs in the formula, because these signs are also used for operator functions
Step 4. Go to layout and put the button where you want to place it. If you want to put it over a chart you have to change the frame style of the chart to 'transparant'. You can also add the hyperlink to the toolbar of the chart.
I have not tested it yet, but the above should also work for web templates that are set up with the Web Application Designer. This means that I can embedd a scatter chart in Visual Composer.
Thanks for all your help and take care,
Ralph
