Capture short dump error

Is there anyway to capture the shortdump in application log (SLG1). If not, is there any other way to capture it.

but what are you trying to do?

there are a few function modules like:

/SDF/EWA_GET_ABAP_DUMPS

that will give you some dump info back

but what is your process? you want to call r3 to get dumps ?
