hmmm...strange...you already supplied the kernel cd as you did the central instance installation...did you change the cd location? why not copy the contents of the kernel cd to disk and refer to this directory when asked?

-> by the way: which sap release to you want to install?

-> database software is already installed on the target machine?

-> by which means do ypu plan to achive the system copy...backup/restore, r3load, r3copy?

hi andreas,

no, i didnt change the cd location. i've tried to copy the contents but the installation wont work if run it thru hard disk.

-sap : 4.6c sr2

- i already installed oracle 9.2 (fresh installation)

- i'd plan to restore the file. ( from old server to new server if thats is what u mean).

thanks.

the Original 4.6C SR2 CD does not support Windows 2003 nor Oracle 9.2.

you need to use the extended support kernel available on SMP via:

download -> Installations and Upgrades -> Miscellaneous Components -> SAP Kernel->SAP KERNEL 32-BIT->SAP KERNEL 4.6D_EXT 32-BIT.

only there r3setup will find the Oracle 9.2 templates for init.ora

hi peter,

i already go to SMP but it appears to no data available. Could you give me another link that i can download. Thanks. Another question : Can i still do MSCS with 4.6c sr2?

well, it may happen that those information is not visible for customers not having signed an extended support contract for 4.6. CD ID would be: 51020564 (32 Bit).

alternatively you should be able to use the Oracle10 enabled R3Setup Kernel CD referenced in note 976457

which should also install fine with Oracle9.
