Related to XI Server

Hi Experts,

Right now i m stuck with the problem which is very seviour. Please help me out for that as soon as possible.

We had 1 XI development server... which was working very fine previously... but after that whenever we have started testing of our Proxy related scenario then at that time also it was working fine... but once bcz of some problem we needed to restart the XI Dev server... but after that it went down and it has started giving error "Dispatcher is running but server is not connected".

After that we have tried same for the XI Quality server and then XI Production server also...

XI production server was also working fine previously but as soon as we have transported proxy related things and done settings for that.... and restarted once... it also went down... with the same error ""Dispatcher is running but server is not connected".

this error came only after doing settings related to the proxy.

So we have isolated XI Dev as well as XI Prd servers and tried to run it standalone... even we have deleted all the settings related to proxy... after that it has started working very fine.. and still it is running fine...

Because of that only we though that the problem is with the Proxy settings. In one b'log i have read that the settings are all landscap dependent.

We are using XI 3.0 and SP 6.

in R/3 APPINT : release 200_620

level 0006.

if u need to know something else also then tell me...

hope i have not confused you... if u need some more info then tell me...

hope you r now clear abt my problem...

right now memory size is : 8GB RAM for development server.

and heap size is also : 2 GB i think...

Thanx,

Chaitanya.....

Hi Chaitanya,

You can view upgrades at service.sap.com.

Go to SAP Netweaver, under that

--> SAP NetWeaver 2004

---> Support Package Stacks Information

Do you really have an XI 3.0 SP6 ?

If it is so, you have to update it as soon as possile, the SP6 it's too much old, you will have many other problems.

I hope you wrote this as a mistake.

At the moment it´s available the SP19, released from 2006-11-21, applying this SP you will have a system more fast, more robust and with more functionality

It's important to understand why the dispatcher run but the server not: try to look to the log files

/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<nr>/j2ee/cluster/server0/log/defaultTrace.trc

and

/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<nr>/work/server0

You shoul find the error that prevent the java server0 to start.
