SAP BW fails to start - shared memory error

I am getting the error on SAP startup in the DEV_W0 process log :

'[MAPOsShm} can't find free space for shared memory (size=83770 KB)"

Disp+Work.exe dies and the work processes die on startup.

This is on a Windows 2003 32 bit server with 8*CPU and 16gb RAM, running on SQL Server 2000.

I have rebooted the server and still get the same error.

Is there an equivalent of the cleanipc command for WIndows? as I cannot clean the memory and the work processes just die on start up with the same shared memory errors.

This is a NW04 System running BW 3.50.

This is a production instance, so thanks for any help.

Hi

I have now got the sytem up, the problem was an EM memory parameter in the instance profile file, I have removed this and the system is now ok, one of my colleagues changed this parameter value and I think this is the first time its been stopped/started since, so I went to an old instance profile to get the system up.
