can anyone tell what is the exact meaning & purpose of SHOPPING CART in SRM 5.0. & how the WORKFLOW works in Shopping cart.
with kindly regards to all
Hi,
Workflow is designed to approve and/or complete documents (example : shopping cart).
Approvers are serialized in the approval chain.
As soon as the last approval is ok, purcahse order (in this case) is created.
Please have a look in the online help :

Dear Srini
Shopping cart in SRM can be loosely be termed as equivalent to a Purchase Requistion. It can be created by any employee in the organisation, who has access to the ebp system , to put in a request for something that needs to be procured. Since, this initiates a procuremnet process, workflows have been put in place to provide tight control over the whole procurement process. SHopping cart is a business object in SRM and there are standard WF that are attached to the Shopping Cart. Depending on the starting conditions that are maintained for this business object, relevant wfWF will start and the process will be more controled
Hope this helps

Hello, a shopping cart is a document that a user creates in SRM. The shopping cart is a list of items that have to be purchased , attached to each item there are some other informations (accounting, delivery address, notes ...) .
When a shopping cart is saved a workflow is triggered and an approval step, if needed, is required in order to generate a follow on document (a purchasing requisition or a purchase order).
