SAP XI over Business connector

Hi All,

As everyone is aware that SAP Business connector is no longer supported by SAP and XI has replaced it in quite many places.

I would like to know the advantages of XI replacing Business connector in a project scenario.Also any disadvantages that XI still has over BC?

I would like to have the reply in detail as this is required for suggesting XI as a replacement for BC.Also the cost benefits highlighted would be of great help.Inputs for this query would be highly appreciated and rewarded.

hi,

XI

abap mappings - you can use abap devs,

WAS engine - so you can use SAP basis people

abap proxies - new SAP interfaces

XI content - mappings predefined for SAP applications

<b>monitoring</b> - BC does not have almost any monitoring in comparison to XI

BC

there's still the EDI content - XI does not have it (you need to use something else)

qRFC usage

reverse invokes (B2B) - XI does not have that

Could anyone please highlight the main advantages of moving Business connector to SAP XI (other than support no longer offered from SAP,comparison of both etc)

Also cost benefits of moving from BC to XI if any.

Is it downloadable or any company needs to be contacted with our business scenario(contact specified in this doc) for the tool?
