HI Umesh

Yes my server has more then 1.5 GB RAM.

And one more thing i want to ask that can i user JDk 1.5 version instread of 1.4. or 1.5.

And previously i was givng JAVA_HOME and path environment variable as classpath : c:\jdk1.4.2_10\bin....

path : c:\jdk1.4.2_10

JAVA_HOME = c:\jdk1.4.2_10

and same as path enviromonment.

but i have read somewhere it should be like this way....

JAVA_HOME = C:\Program Files\j2sdk1.4.2_10

and

Path = C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_10\bin;%JAVA_HOME%\bin

so is this 2nd option is correct ?

or u suggest me the path like this way what i have have shown you i'll install it on C: Drive.ok. I guess there were classpath problem in my previous installation efforts. U suggest classpath,path n JAVA_HOME variables.

Thanks,

Deepak

also regarding the enviroment

JAVA_HOME=c:\jdk1.4.2_09

and path=%JAVA_HOME%\bin

after just for surity check this thru start->run->give %JAVA_HOME% ->press ok

Hi..

Good morning...

First Shutdown SAP MMC and Oracle DB and Stop the SAP service,Oracle service from services.msc

Increase the shared_pool_size by 16Bytes also give 10% to shared_pool_reserved_size and also check SAPSYSTEMNAME in Profiles..

Then start the DB ,SAP and those services which u stoped and resume ur installation..it will finish sucessfully

Kind Regards

hi umesh

i got ur point. i havnt defined pagin size before in D drive.

ok but

Increase the shared_pool_size by 16Bytes also give 10% to shared_pool_reserved_size and also check SAPSYSTEMNAME in Profiles.

where to perfrom this talk. can u tell me. how to do this. i dont have idea about this.

Thanks.

Increase the shared_pool_size by 16Bytes also give 10% to shared_pool_reserved_size...these can be done in INITSID.ORA file which will be in \oracle\sid\<DBrelease>\database\init<sid>.ora...Is there any DBA there...aslo consult this with him

Former Member
0 Kudos

ya Umesh.

There is no DBA here. I m only the super user. hahaha.so i have gone through ur way. u can see this is a portion of that INITS99.ORA(as S99 is my Ora Sid)

Its show perfactly what u said.

shared_pool_size - 160903987

this is the code. Do i make any changes in dat file ? i means should i remove # which is before 10% shared_pool_size ? Tell me necessary setting here so i can do and go further. ANs yes ur email is not working..its bouncing. give me corretly.so i can talk too.

  1. Redo Buffers = log_buffer

#

  1. unit of shared_pool_size: bytes

  2. unit of db_block_buffers: number of cached blocks

  3. unit of log_buffer: bytes

shared_pool_size = 160903987

  1. 10% of shared_pool_size

shared_pool_reserved_size = 16090398

log_buffer = 1048576

        1. MANAGING SORTS

Former Member

Hi,

Yes u can make changes here u add 16 to Shared_pool_size and 10% of this to

shared_pool_reserved_size = 16090398 ie change shared_pool_size = 160904003

and shared_pool_reserved_size = 16090400...Then check the SAPSYSTEMNAME = S99,in DEFAULT,START,INSTANCE profiles

Regards

Umesh K

Former Member

This not code..the is the size of shared pool area which is a part of system global area in oracle memory..it is mentioned in bytes ...u should not remove the # symbol.it is comment.below that u can change

hi,

I think u should be going with j2sdk1.4.2_12 . and envi variable should be java_home and its value is c:\ j2sdk1.4.2_12. if this the path where u installed java.

and edit system variable path by giving ;j2sdk1.4.2_12 at the end of the value.

try this and let us know what happened.
