Hi All,
In IR, if i drill down in Tools->Send System Messages and Display System messages. What are the uses of these?

you can send a message to all users like:
"XI server will be restarted in 5 minutes - please logout"

this is just a MAIL-client. This has nothing to do with XI functionality!

mail client? what do you mean?
AFAIK you cannot send any mails with that
only simple system messages
I think these messages are used more for broadcast by BASIS team to say the system is being shutdown.
Have not tried though!!!

I remember there was an issue in some of the previous SPs
that it was quite difficult to remove this message
once populated it was appearing everytime you logged into XI
Hope it was changed since then

mayybe it's stored in some cache ? did you try refreshing?
if this will not work try restarting the java part
