Netweaver and navigating

Currently have built our inhouse web using Jbuilder and JCO and bits of ITS

Now with netweaver I can see we can use that to replace juilder as the IDE, but was wondering what people use for navigating from one SAP transaction to another.

Let me explain.

Most sites have a welcome page (no intelligent transactions there). Next you would choose an area (say contract processing) which can take you to another page which would have things like

1) otion to create a new contract

2) list of your current contracts

3) .....etc

Well should netweaver only be used for the intelligent transactions or also for the base pages and moving from one page to another - ie the whole site (like we can do in Jbuilder)?

Thanks

Hello BasisDude,

the NetWeaver components are clearly designed to support the creation of the whole site.

You could use SAP Enterprise Portal as the overall system your applications run in and get several services for free like user authorization and authentication, customization and adjustment of the user interface, and so on...

When it comes to creating applications: Web Dynpro is a powerful model-based application generator for web applications which offers the possibility to define intelligent transactions plus defining graphically with no coding the flow from one page to the next one.
