Hello,
I plan to upgrade my R/3 4.6C Oracle 8.1.7 to ECC6 oracle10g.
In all the documentation, SAP doesn't indicate the CPU, the RAM and the disk space required.
Furthermore I have to upgrade oracle version the 10g but I don't know what are the steps (9.2... or directly to 10) nor moment to do this upgrade.
Somebody could help me?
Thanks
Thank you,
But i stil have a question about the upgrade of Oracle.
This is all the steps of a migration:
0. Upgrade Oracle to 9.2.0.7,
1. Steps in ABAP Preparation System (>Web AS 6.10),
2. Upgrade: PREPARE and Tool Import (R/3 4.6C),
3. Unicode Preconversion (R/3 4.6C),
4. Database check (R/3 4.6C),
5. Upgrade,
5'. Upgrade Oracle to 10g,
6. Additional Preparation Steps in SAP ECC non-UC (SAP ECC),
7. Unicode Conversion Phase,
8. Unicode Conversion Completion (SAP ECC).
Are the two steps 0 and 5' at the correct time for the migration??
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
You can refer to below mentioned notes for resource requirment:
778774 --> Resource requirements for ECC 5.0
752532 --> Resource requirements for R/3 Enterprise 4.70 x 2.00
517085 --> Resource requirements for R/3 Enterprise 4.70 x 1.10
For oracle upgrade u need first upgrade to 9.2.0 and then perform upgrade to 10g
Direct upgrade to 10g is not tested and validated but its is possible, If you intend to perform a direct upgrade from Oracle 8.1.7 to Oracle 10.2, see the Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2) upgrade documentation.
hope this helps u out.
thanks
Uday.
