Hi,
Just wanted to learn XI stuff on my own...how shall i go about this?..i have been workin as an ABAP guy from last 2 years...
Pls help
Regards
Gunjan
Do some research into Enterprise Application Integration. Then learn about how XI is aligned with these areas and with the rest of the SAP/Netweaver architecture. Only then would I recommend you look at attempting the technical scenarios posted here. IMO It is best to learn why you apply a particular tool in detail before you learn how you apply it.

Hello Gunjan,
If I understand you correctly, your knowledge about EAI is less.
To start with XI you should work with short scenarios to get the big picture.
1) Create a input and an output data type and message type
2) Create a message mapping by using this two data types.
à The basic know how you have to learn at first is the mapping tool
In the next step you should learn how to configure a little file-to-file scenario.
You have to define two Message Interfaces for your Message Types.
One Input (Sender) and one Output (Receiver) both asynchronous.
At least create an Interface Mapping by using your Message Mapping and the Message Interfaces. Test it by using Integration Builder before you will start with runtime configuration.
If this works you should open the Configuration Builder and create your scenario.
For this you have to use a Business System or a Business Service (have you set up your SLD?) Also you need Communication Channels (File adapter).
Good luck
Daniel
