We are getting more trace files which are bigger in size.
How do we overcome this problem.
Please note that in most Early Watch services SAP suggests selecting the top level of the tree in the VA - log configurator serivce; set severity to 'ERROR' and choose 'copy severity to subtree'.
Cheers,
Walter

Hi Kaustubh Dekhane ,
1. Start the Visual Admin Tool;Goto D:\usr\sap\<Inst-ID>\JCxx\j2ee\admin --> go.bat
Example: D:\usr\sap\F04\JC04\j2ee\admin --> go.bat
2. Login with admin user.
3. Go to Server 0 xxxx --> Services --> Security Provider --> Log Viewer
4. Cluster --> Serverxxxx --> D:\usr\sap --> <Inst-ID>\JCxx -->
for DefaultTrace file: j2ee\cluster\server0 --> log --> defaultTrace.trc
Select "DefaultTrace.trc" and come to down click on "Severity" then set levels like: Debug, path, info, warning, Error and Fatal levels.

Hi
You can either set the log severity to error in the VA which will write to the trace only the error and fatal messages!!. therwise you can change the settings in the config tool.Select the cluster_data -> server -> cfg -> kernel switch to the edit mode look for the propertyhseetlogmanager where you can defaulttracefile_limit....

Hi,
Plesse go to visual administrator, browse to the services option under instance -- server0 . select log configurator.. change "Log inforrmation" to ERROR in each tab options that you see on the right hand side. save and choose apply settings to all nodes.. restart the server to make settings come in to effect.
