i think the only way to configure alerts install CCMS.

Sridhar,

You do not need to install CCMS to use Xi's alert framework.

Hi ,

If you are on

SP12 : there is no way for u to raise alerts

SP13 : you can configure CCMS to raise alerts for AE

Sp14 on wards :you have the option of specifying adapter alert rules.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. But i still have a doubt as to,how is the communication channel error alert triggered?is it through BPM?

Thanks,

Jishi,

You do not need a BPM to use XI's Alert framework.

When you comm channel goes into a red status, the alert will be triggered by XI's alert framework if you have configured alerts for the same.

Hi Jishi,

The ALERTS are triggered automatically by the AE/IS engines in case of error.

Via the ALERT rules, you can either ignore the alerts or have them e.g. delivered by e-mail to an administrator.

( see SXMSALERT_LOGREADER to see the triggered alerts and how it is handled )

You can't define an alert rule for a specific channel, but you usually achieve the same by using all the other criteria ( sender details / receiver details / adapter type )

Hi,

I have created the Alert category and alert rule for adapters in the 'Where did the error occured' part.Is there any other configurations that have to be done for raising this particular type of alerts(Communication Channel Errors).Other alerts triggered from the BPM and all are workin for me,but when there is a red status in the CC,no alerts are triggered.what could be the problem?

Thanks,

Did you check the alert log to see if :

-the alert is not created

or

-the alert is not handled

Jishi,

Are alerts being triggered for other errors like mapping errors etc? ( without BPM);

Like mentioned check for the Alert Log in SLG1 and in ST22.

Hi Bhavesh,

No alerts are being triggered for mapping errors,etc(i.e. without BPM).Is it because i have missed some settings?

Thanks

Hi,

For Alert rules configuration:

Remove the Check from Suppress Multiple Alerts of this Rule

For where did the error occur, see that you have selected Radio button with 'No Restriction

When creating the Alert Category, have u put some parameters in Container tab and Long and Short text.

If allt he above is done check if you have any dumps in ST22.

Hi Vijaya,

Now the alerts are getting triggered.I have given the dynamic text indicator checked in ALRTCATDEF.But a blank alert is being generated and sent.I am using this alert to inform if a problem in any of the Communication Channel that I am using. What could be the problem?

Thanks

Jishi
