Jag / Vinnu,

I have the same issue..trying to install Oracle patch 9.2.0.7 on win 2003 os. When I execute the setup.exe under folder patches\9.2.0.7\install it opens a DOS window and shut's itself down. Am I using the correct patch?

Final goal: To install IDES ERP 2004 on win 2003 standard.

Any response is appreciated.

Thanks,

Sree

Hi,

I downloaded the oracle patch 9.2.0.7 from Database/Patches but when I extract the files it asks me for Password. Any clue why is it password protected. Please send me the link to the Oracle Patch.

Thanks,

Sree

Hi,

is it coming like "IMAGE BE OPEN,ITS NOT SUITABLE FOR THIS KIND OF SYSTEM" IF SO

THEN REMOVE THE SPACES BETWEEN THE FOLDER NAMES

FOR EX:

folder name incorrect: oracle rdbms cd

change it to :oraclerdbmscd

let me know in case of issues..

Hi vinay,

the path u have specified is absolutely correct,

after nt/i386 select sapserver.cmd,

if you click on this cmd file..it will ask for ur SID, Give ur 3-digit sid and give ur installation drive and enter..

GUI screen will appear..

kindly, let me know in case of issues.

Vinay,

I think ur installing SAP 4.7 IDES on oracle with windows

For better dump all DVDs and CDs in a location.

Have account <sid>adm and sap service<sid> added to admin group

Have advanced JDK version and install

First install oracle DB u will get Disk1,2,3 pref version 9.2.0.4

to install click sapserver.cmd wait for some time.it will invoke oracle universal installer it will guide you ( SID=ICS or any 3 letter word )

Install central instance

install Db instance

Let me know if u have any doubts

which patch set are you going to install on which windows platform?

setup.exe should start in any case, regardless if there are still services runing having Oracle DLLs loaded.

why not starting with 9.2.0.7 or 9.2.0.8?

I am not shure if there are still hotfixes produced for 9.2.0.6.

As far as I remember there where some issues with the installer and Oracle has switched it to a newer version with some hotfix of 9.2.0.6

Vinay.

Stop all oracle services.

Start Oracle Universal Installer release located in the unzipped area of the patch set. For example, Oracle_patch\setup.exe.

On the Welcome screen, click Next.

On the Specify File Locations screen, click Browse next to the Path field in the Source section.

Select the products.xml file from the stage directory where you unpacked the patch set files, then click Next. For example:

Oracle_patch\stage\products.xml

In the Name field in the Destination section, select the name of the Oracle home that you want to update from the drop down list, then click Next. and install

??? you mean on the target device (= disk)

-> which oracle rlz do you plan to install?

-> \oracle\<SID>\<Oracle-Rlz> ==> \oracle\T01\920

or do you mean the cmd-files on the rdbms-cd?

-> sapserver.cmd would be fine for the installation of the db-server...
