Deployment Exception

Former Member

Hi,

I am unable to deploy a Webdynpro Application from NWDS.

The deployment error is :

"

Deployment exception : Server xyz did not accept login request as admin on port 50218. Details: ERROR: Could not establish connection to server xyz at port 50218: xyz

Inner exception was :

Server xyz did not accept login request as admin on port 50218. Details: ERROR: Could not establish connection to server xyz at port 50218: xyz

"

The server is on a Remote host and when I try to ping the server I get the message: Request Timed out.

I have searched the forum for related messages but in vain.

Any pointers?

Thanks and Regards,

Reena

Hi Reena,

Please verify the messageserver port in J2EE settings.

Can you able see the instaces (In green) in J2EE engine details view ?

Hi Anilkumar,

Thank you for your reply.

The message server port is correct ( I checked in the 'System Information' of the WAS )

Yes, the server instances are all up and running. All nodes are green.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Lohitha,

Thanks for the link.

My passwords for Portal and SDM are different and

Ping <remote server> does not work.

However,

I am able to login to the portal with the admin id.

I am able to login to VA with the admin id

I am able to login to SDM via remotegui.bat using my SDM pwd.

I have made an entry in the hosts file <IP> <Alias>

Any other pointers ? ( apart from changing the SDM pwd )

Thanks and Regards,

Reena

Hi,

sorry for this question, but is your server up and running. I had the same error a couple of days before and it turned out that the sdm was down...

Hi Rene,

No problem

Yes my server is up and running. I have green for all the 3 nodes.

Any other suggestions?

Hi,

My problem is solved. I had included the network domain by mistake in the hosts file as well as in the preferences. ( Careless mistake )

Once I removed the network domain the application was deployed successfully.

I still have my SDM password different from the Admin password.

Thanks everyone for your inputs !

Hi,

SDM and Admin passwords are different at the time insatall the WAS and portal .

If you give the password differently then it will different and not given it will take as admin password only.

Thanks,

Hi Lohitha,

Ok.

But what I was trying to point out is that, unlike mentioned in many other posts regarding this exception, it is not necessary to maintian the same SDM and Admin password ( correct me if I'm wrong ), since my pwds differ and yet I'm able to deploy successfully.

Reena

Hi Reena,

it is not required to have same password for SDM and admin.they can be different also.
