" unable to establish connection to R/3 system......"

then i tried to establish RFC connection through SM59 and when i gave the details and clicked remote logon, it said

" error while opening RFC connection...."

then i tried to ping the R/3 system, it says, 4 packets sent and 4 packets recieved, connection successfull.

i tried gigving different combinations of uppercase and lower case for user id and password.

but none of these worked can any one help please,

HI,

Check out is the R/3 server up and running. Check loging in to the R/3 system. Then check SM59 entry for the R/3 system.

During import did you give correct IP address of SAP system, client information User Id and Password( Case sensitive-if any).

kutumba rao,

U have to check for the RFC destination of type 3, (R/3 connection)

Just see for description of each of them if u r lucky enough, there will be an RFC destination with some description.

What release is ur R/3 System.

Check if accepts only first 8 chars of PW, which depends on the release of the r/3 system.

i also checked the roles in SU01 for the XI user

many were given in that like

SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR

etc,

is it mandatory that either

SAP_XI_APPL_SERV_USER

or

SAP_ALL

must be given
