Braces in URL for ABAP Keyword Doc prevent page opening in IE7

Hi all,

I am using:

- IE7

- SAP GUI 6.40 Patch Level 21

When I try to open the ABAP Keyword Documentation by positioning the cursor in a keyword in the ABAP editor and then hitting F1, the generated handle sometimes contains braces, "{" and/or "}", and sometimes not.

When it does not contain braces, IE7 does not complain and shows the page as expected.

When there are braces in the URL however, IE7 does not open the page and shows a "This program cannot display the webpage" page with URL like this:

res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff_webOC.htm#mk:@SAPHTML://yPZW2jzwz4%7BXtFnZO8F1wW/HTML000001.htm

On IE6 that same page would open and the URL would be:

mk:@SAPHTML://yPZW2jzwz4{XtFnZO8F1wW/HTML000001.htm

I'd be thankful if someone shares a workaround for this problem.

Try having a look at SAP Note Number 738927 - HTMLViewer: moniker protocol is disabled in WinXP SP2.
