We're trying to get our hands around the effort involved to implement MDM. Does anyone have a good staffing model for an MDM project? Something that identifies the skill sets required (MDM, XI, etc) and typical timeframe for each phase (e.g. data discovery, consolidation/harmonization, implement, deploy, etc.) Any averages for low/med/high complexity would be helpful also.
Thanks for your help.
Hi Mark,
if you happen ta have access to the dsag.net (Mitgliederbereich - www.dsag.de) you can download a presentation by a sap-projectmanager, which was held on the MDM-Thementag, 9.12.2004 in Walldorf.
He talks about an MDM 2.0 project. About 60 systems were connected - the amount of master data was numbered 300.000 at project start.
In an MDM Project a variety of technical issues are involved like MDS, CI, XI, Portal, ABAP, Java, BSP, PC-UI, Workflow which require according skills...
the project lasted over 2 years apparently and overall (SAP, Partner, Customer) 23 project-team-members were involved.
Regards, Matthias
