Former Member

Hi all,

I successfully installed Server by choosing Custom Installation , when i try to open Console its throwing up error saying

MMC can't open the file "C:\......SAPMMC.MSC"

Because file may not be exists or not an MMC console or was created by a later version or sufficent access right to the file

I'm working as an Admin for this system

All suggestion would really be helpful

Hi Bris,

Please try the following:

Extract the sapmmc.sar file from the installation disk.

execute sapcar -xvf sapmmc.sar

copy the extracted files to the system32 directory and from a command prompt execute regsvr32 sapmmc.dll

Refer to sap note 354595.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers

Dan,

There was some path error , I fixed it , Right now its working , but in process list

I can see only Yellow because

jcontrol.exe J2EE Server is stopped

igswd.exe IGS Watchdog is running

I restarted again too.

Rest all is fine.

Do you have any solution?..

Hi Bris,

So now we have a new error? You probably should open a new question as this is really a Portal issue rather than MMC..

Take a look in the log files under the work directory (usr\sap\<sid>\JCxx\work) for the installation. It could be many things that cause the engine not to start.

See if you can find any errors in the logs that may indicate the reason.

Cheers

Hi Bris,

You really need to look into the logs..

A common cause of start up failures is invalid VM parameters or not enough memory available for the VM to intialize.

Right click on the J2EE engine and click 'developer trace'. Post the output to the thread.

Hi Bris,

Sorry that was not much help, could you post the output of:

<dir>:\usr\sap\<SID>\JCxx\work\std_dispatcher.out

<dir>:\usr\sap\<SID>\JCxx\work\std_server0.out

This should be more helpful.

Thanks

Daniel
