Upgrade of kernel on application servers in ECC 6.0 Upgrade

Hi,

I have a question. We have a Central Instance on 1 server and 6 dialog instances on 6 application servers. The version is 4.6C. If we upgrade to ECC 6.0, I know the steps of upgrade following the upgrade master guide. My worry is what are the steps to be taken on the 6 application servers after completing the upgrade of the central instance server.

Do we have upgrade the kernel on all the 6 application servers and then start all of them at once. Kindly suggest me. Thanks a ton in advance.

Hi Arun,

After the upgrade of the central instance, you need to upgrade the dialog instance to the new release. To do this, you install the new dialog instance on top of the old dialog instance using the tool SAPinst.

I think you have to worry about re-sizing the infrastructure because there is a big differnce in resource requirement from 4.6c to ECC
