Hi,

In most areas Web Dynpro Java and ABAP are alike, they are based on the same programming model.

In WDA you have the advantage of the integration into the complete development infrastructure, with transport system etc.

As to functionality, there are some UI elements in WDA that are not yet there in WDJ e.g. FormattedTextView.

Web Dynpro ABAP, on the other hand, does not support mobile devices.

For more information on WDA, Refer these threads..

Web Dynpro for Java is also fully integrated in the complete development infrastructure (NWDI).

I think an overlooked factor here is what skills do you or your shop have already? SAP gives customers the option. If you have existing Java skills, then use Java Web Dynpro. There are many, many customers who do not have any Java knowledge and have limited ability to invest in Java training, for example. In this case, use ABAP Web Dynpro.

Best Regards,

Matt
