Could I use RFC to trigger a File/FTP sender ?

I can build a file/ftp sender to get files from ftp server and and trigger a RFC.

files -> File/FTP adapter -> XI -> RFC

But could I trigger this scenario from SAP GUI ? not a periodical pooling action ?

The reason is, the normal frequency of ftp adapter is 4hrs. But sometimes, users want to do the scenario manually and we need to trigger this scenario from SAP GUI.

no you cannot

from SP19 you will be able to do it from RWB

(schedule and start) but not from SAPGUI

Thanks. But is it a system restriction? Or SAP will build it in future version? Because I think the scenario is reasonable. It's possible that users want to trigger some scenarios manually and for JDBC, it's possible to do it.

hi,

sure it is reasonable but there's no API

to start a channel dynamically right now

maybe it will be possible with next XI release

(the one after 7.0) - who knows

with jdbc is much easier as you can use this adapter

as a receiver to do the select

so you can schedule it with an RFC
