Netweaver 2004s License - NOT SNEAK PREVIEW

Guyz,

I installed 04s with following usage types : AS ABAP, AS JAVA, EP,DI,XI.

After successful installation, as expected i got a temporary license for 3 weeks. Before applying license to R/3, i would like to know about applying license to EP & XI as they are AS Java based ? Do we have to request license separately for them ?

Thanks in advance

Hi Sreedhar,

Is this a single instance (one SID) ABAPJava installation? If so, in an ABAPJava installation, the Java stack gets its license key information from the ABAP stack, so you only need to install the ABAP license key. If it is a separate Java installation (separate SIDs), then you need a license key for each SID and, in the case of the Java stack, you install it using in the J2EE license service in the visual administrator like Juan says.

The usage types installed do not matter, just the SIDs. A license key is required for each SID.

Information can be found on the Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/licensekey.

Best Regards,

Matt

Hi

I will tell you the steps:

1.Apply only ABAP license

2.EP and DI you dont have to apply license seperately

3.XI also dont think you need a seperate license it

4.Ideally a single ABAP license is sufficient

Hi Sreedhar,

I don't really know about XI, but in the case of the portal you just need to install the J2EE license via Visual Administrator
