SAP J2EE Engine not coming up , jms_provider service failing

Hi all,

i made few changes in EP module and since then my server is not starting properly. i am not able to login to EP module. so i made changes in UME using configtool.

I changed DataSourceConfiguration to use <b>dataSourceConfiguration_r3_rw.xml</b> and used user J2EE_ADMIN . since then while server comes up it gives some error related to service jms_provider.

so before putting the trace here , can any one tell me which is the default dataSourceConfiguration ? and also what user do i specify ??

i<b> changed the datasource to uses abap</b> and it started working. i just had to give few extra parameters that it prompted me for.

Hi Rohit

I just wanted to add that in order for the jms_provider service to start successfully it needs to obtain from the UME a user with Administrator rights. So the issue is definetely related with your UME changes.

Please see the trace files of the server for the relevant exceptions during start. They are located at :

\usr\sap\<sid>\<id>\j2ee\cluster\server<id>\log

That may give a hint what is wrong with the UME.

hi kamlesh , that note didnt help..

i just made few changes in EP and etire o4s is down. isnt there any default ume configuration that i can do using config tool so that my server comes up.

whats the default datasource configuration , if it is ....databaseonly.xml then what user do i specify in uniqueids property coz which ever i am specifying like Guest or J2EE-GUEST is failing saying USER AUTH FAILEd.

Rohit,

Did you install as a double stack or add-in installation? Or did you install as a standalone AS Java?

Depending on what kind of installation you did determines what the default users you have.

See the following from the AS Java Security Guide:

Naturally this is just the default installation. If these users have been deleted since installation, you have to adjust accordingly.

As to which datasource which data source is default also depends on how you installed AS Java. You have the correct data source for the AS Java as stand alone. Depending on what version you originally installed, the double-stack/add-in default data source may be dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml.

Changing the data source won't help you if you cannot find the guest user though.
