Migration of SAP 4.7 to ECC 6.0

Hello Experts.

Can anyone of you give me the steps involved in migration of SAP 4.7 to ECC 6.0. I would appreciate if I can get a document with the screenshots on this. Many thanks for your help in advance.

Screenshot will not help you. The PREPARE and UPGRADE phases present different screens and require specific info depending on the kind of plug-ins you may have installed in your 4.7 system. Also DB and OS specific screens will be presented.

Hi. the steps is depend on few things.. whther you source is unicode / no unicode.

Single codepage or multiple codepage..

there is steps you have to follow that will not be possible to screen capture.

but it's all on the script provide by SAP, prepare & SAPup.. and for unicode conversion you need to do Export and import of your system

Thanks everyone for those helpful replies. My system is SAP 4.7 Unicode and we are upgrading to ECC 6.0. Our company wants to do a downtime minimized upgrade and I have to create the shadow instance for that. I have gathered all the docs and OSS notes from SAP Service Marketplace for this.

Can I get a checklist of the upgrade steps for downtime minimed strategy in Excel format. My email is aleemae@gmail.com. That will be of a wonderful help to me.

Hi.. you dont have to create shadow instance by ur self.. the prepare & SAPup will handle that.. you just have to prepare an unused system number.

since ur 4.7 is already on unicode.. i think you can start with prepare script, and follow the whole prepare process.

few checklist that i know is like checking missing tables, clearing update lock, releasing transport requests, SPDD & SPAU.

I didnt remember the exact steps.. but u can get it from the upgrade guide from SAP Marketplace.

Ramesh, why would you do an upgrade on sap software without being a sap customer? otherwise you would have access to sapnet...

that was nice a question? anywayz after that i somehow able to find out the sap market place user-id and password with the help of my team members,now place suggest me regarding the links or the documents where i can find the details abt the upgrades/migration from 4.6c to ECC6.0.

mySAP Business Suite Applications --> mySAP ERP --> mySAP ERP 2005 -->Upgrade -->SAP ERP 2005 Support Release 1

download the OS and DB specific Upgrade manual, manual includes standard notes which need to follow.

You'll have to consult several guides and several SAP notes for your operation. The upgrade guides are in http://service.sap.com/upgradenw2004s.
