Condition on syndication of attributes

Hi,

we are facing currently a customer demand which doesn't look very MDM standard.

The customer wants a taxonomy table with attributes. But he also needs rules for these attributes dependend on their category which they belong to.

Rules are:

1) Attribute is mandatory in one category, but not in the other (needs to be defined somewhere)

2) If the attribute will be send out to the backend system or not (e.g. length attribute in one category should be send to backend system, but if it's in the other category it should not be send)

Is there any standard or not standard way to build this functionality in MDM?

Please let me know. This is very urgent. Points will be rewarded.

I think you can create validations and control this through work flow at the time of loading the record.

Just a thought.
