I am compiling a VERY basic model for the first time in VC 2004s. I am getting a Flex compilation error when trying to deploy which references me to a "log file" for further information.
Where do i find this "log file"?
Any help is most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

And BTW: you might also want to look into the FAQ for Visual Composer in our Wiki: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki
There is the entry FAQ 2 Enable the Visual Composer Log

Hi Phil,
we had the problem. There is a possibility to get a detailed error description in VC. I've looked for you on the service market place, it is Note 974494 - Error in compiling Flex application.
You must change some settings as it was described in SAP Note 974494, then you become a detailed error message, so that you can handle the error.
Best Regards,
Marcel

@ Mario Herger:
Maybe SAP change this standardsetting on true. I think it's better to get more information about the error instead of getting an information, that an error occurs.

Thanks for the replies.
I referenced the document "How to ... Resolve Visual Composer Issues" and saw section 8.4 where it explains how to access the VC logs. Are these the log files that I as a VC application developer need to reference when I get a compilation and/or deployment error?
If so, can they be accessed remotely? I may be misunderstanding but it seems like I have to be on the portal server itself.
Also, are the logs maintained by user, by application, or something else entirely? I am simpy trying to understandf the simplest way for a developer to access compilation/deploy errors specific to an application.
Many thanks!

Hi Phil,
the best way to get the errors for your VC application developers is SAP Note 974494. Then your developers get compilation and/or deployment errors directly in VC, while compiling or deploying. Then you needn't access to the portal server.

With the note above you get the messages direct in VC, maybe you can say you get the error message remotely.
