During uninstalling SQL Studio I had a system crash leaving the system inconsistent. Now, when I try to install SQL Studio again, the install wizard shows:
... will update version 7.5.0.0 to 7.6.0.27.
After confirming two times "next" I receive:
Error: Register of "failed! (-1)
Confirming "ok" the answer is
Error: 0x80040702, failed to load dll SQLStudioDSQL
Why does the installer assume, that a version 7.5.0.0 exists in my system, if no directory x:\SDB\... exists and no registry seems to be related with SQL Studio?
Who knows any hidden information which can be removed manually to have a clean system respect to SQL Studio.
Any information is very appreciated.
Michael
Hello Michael,
Please check, if you have 'SQL studio' directory on your machine,
for exaple c:\program files\sdb\sql studio.
Please check register under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> 'SAP AG'-> SQL Studio
If no installation or register of the sql studio found,
you can avoid the effect that the installer tries to update from
version 7.5 after a corrupt installation.
In the directory <Program Files>\InstallShield Installation Information you should find directories with hex-char-names.
Find the one that contains a Setup.ini file with the entry AppName=SQL Studio. Please delete this directory.
=> Update with your results/questions.
Thank you & best regards, Natalia Khlopina
