EP on iSeries - java.io.FileNotFoundException: No such path or directory.

I have an EP 6.0 installed on system i. The EP is on SPS 17. When I looked at the NWA's defaulttrace logs I found many of messages

java.io.FileNotFoundException: No such path or directory. /usr/sap/DEP/JC20/j2ee/cluster/server0/bin/ext/com.sap.datadirect/.......jar

at java.lang.Throwable.<init>(Throwable.java:194)

at java.lang.Exception.<init>(Exception.java:41)... [see details]

Googling, I found some topics discussing some sort of installation on system i. One of them has the PTFs list as follows:

PTF Group Level Status Text

SF99530 5207 Installed CUMULATIVE PTF PACKAGE C5207530

SF99529 59 Installed GROUP HIPER

SF99287 13 Installed WEBSPHERE APP SERVER V5.0 (BASE EDITION)

SF99282 3 Installed WEBSPHERE PORTAL EXPRESS/EXPRESS PLUS SERVICE PACK

SF99269 7 Installed JAVA

SF99099 6 Installed IBM HTTP SERVER FOR ISERIES

Meanwhile on my machine, the PTFs groups are:

PTF Group Level Status Text

SF99530 6178 Installed CUMULATIVE PTF PACKAGE C6178530

SF99529 102 Installed GROUP HIPER

SF99503 12 Installed DB2 UDB FOR ISERIES

SF99314 8 Installed TCP/IP Group PTF

SF99298 19 Installed ELECTRONIC SERVICE AGENT

SF99269 12 Installed JAVA

SF99185 16 Installed 530 BACKUP RECOVERY SOLUTIONS

SF99099 2 Installed IBM HTTP SERVER FOR ISERIES

Do you think my machine is missing these:

SF99287 13 Installed WEBSPHERE APP SERVER V5.0 (BASE EDITION)

SF99282 3 Installed WEBSPHERE PORTAL EXPRESS/EXPRESS PLUS SERVICE PACK ?

Or another thing that is causing this problem?

Additional info. I found the installation is missing a folder called '/usr/sap/DEP/JC20/j2ee/cluster/server0/bin/ext/com.sap.datadirect', but the error doesn't happen on other systems, even they are also missing this folder.

Please help....

Thanks and regards,

Agoes

Hi Agoes

Is this has been solved already?

I also encountered this error:

- java.io.FileNotFoundException: No such path or..

when Im installing ECC6, you may try to look for some Authority Failures of your (sid)OFR user ID and grant it accordingly.

Hi Omar,

Yes, it has. Note 909322 solved this problem. In fact, this error can be ignored. I have posted it on 03 Nov, in this thread.

I found Note 909322. It says that these errors can be ignored.

Hi Agoes,

btw:

As WEBSPHERE is "more or less" a cocurrent product to EP, it is not needed - and therefore no patches for this product are needes either. You only need the license programs, that are described in the documentation and then the corresponding fixpacks to that - in fact the infoapar is fully sufficient for that.
