J2ee engine in NWDS

Hi,

I have the following problem.

I can not reach the J2ee engine from my NWDS 7.0.0.6.

I logged on to the server and the server and message server are up and running.

When I go to Window->Preferences SAP J2EE Engine.

I filled the server name and port 3915 (This port I got from the system information of the server on http://server:port/.

Why can I not connect to the server from NWDS? The server is up and running.

Greetings,

Sandhya

Hi sandhya,

Try to remove the http tag and port from http://<host name>:<port> in message server host.

just give your <host name> in message server and port number in message server port and now refresh your j2ee engine.

Hi guys,

I have a similar issue. The J2EE engine perspective in NWDS locates my J2EE engine okay, but there's no J2E nodes showing up under the cluster.

Do I have to set something within the J2EE engine for the J2E instances be visible in NWDS?

Hi,

The message port is usually 36xx where xx is the instance number. Try 3601 or find out the instance number from your sysadmin.

Sorry, for NW04S the port seems to be 39xx. So, try 3901 if it helps.

Thanks,

Hi

Make an entry in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

<IP of the server> <Aliasname>

Kind Regards

Hi Sandhya,

Goto J2EE Engine perspective in NWDS check whether all nodes is in color green. Server and NWDS should be in same version level did you installed NWD2004s?.

Hi Suresh,

I don't see any nodes appearing in my J2ee engine view.

NWDS is 7.0.06

SAP DB is 7.600

Hi,

Windows-showview-j2ee engine.

you can find three nodes all are green only it will be running.

Otherwise ask your admin Message server host and message server port number if these two will correct.

U will find Windows-showview-j2ee engine. three nodes like dispatcher ,server,SDM.

If any probs post your issues.

Thanks,

Lohi.

Hi,

I know normally that u will see three nodes, but I cannot even see these three nodes. I see N/A in my J2ee engine. I filled in the right message host and port in window->preferences-> J2ee engine...

This is a very strange problem,

Hi.

I had the same problem connection to my NW2004s (7.00 SP7) installation.

Using port 3900 solved the problem for me.

Hi,

I am facing the same problem. Installed NWDS 7.0.14. Did following changes :

1. Changed J2EE settings by giving the message server port and host name as per the details found in http://<hostname>:50000/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo. port is 3901.

2. Also, changed the hosts file with the <IP> <host name>

Even after this, i still find N/A for the J2EE view. There is no question of finding any of those 3 instances : dispatcher, SDM and server.

Kindly let me know how do i go ahead. we also tried restarting the j2ee engine.

Regards,

Apeksha
