Windows to Unix, SAP migration

hello,

My client wishes to move SAP from Windows to Unix platform What are the pros and cons involved. What would be the possible role and duties of a Technical and a Functional person involved in the same. Can someone please share there expirience who have been through this transition. how would the GUI development go about.

plz also bear in mind that os/db migration is more than "just a switch" at a very low (basis) level...user processes, such as interfaces depending on the underlying operating system, might impose restrictions as well...so plz take all into consideration when planning a migration...

May i ask what are the business drivers and reasons for migrating from Windows to Unix? What outcome is the customer trying to achieve by performing the migration?

Does your current system have performance or stability problems? If so, please provide details.
