smtp error

hi sap experts

In our new ecc server, we need to define smtp settings using yahoo business mail. i want to know whether i can use yahoo business mail server as my mail host or not.

if so what settings need to be done.it is urgent pls help.

Hello,

Baiscally all SMTP able mailserver can be used for transfering mails from the R/3 system. I do not know whether Yahoo Business Mail provides SMTP relay functionality.

Wether this is possibble depends on this.

hi

first of all thanks for your reply, i have configured all the settings smtp node using 455140. for the yahoo business mail server which is smtp compactable.but it is not sending mails showing communication error.i have tested same configuration with other mail server(not our company's)it is working fine.i want to know specifically is there any thing i have to do apart from 455140 to make it work.

Dear Sandeep,

no there is nothing apart from 455140 for the SMTP configuration.

The sending of mail should work if you can telnet to the mailserver from the R/3 system operation system level.

Is this possibble?
